ECU vs. Gagues
Removing the ECU disables which gagues?
I'm planning an MS/Dizzy install (completely removing ECU) and would like to have all my stock gagues work; so I'd like to figure out what problems I'll need to tackle.
Idiot lights arn't that important (Check Engine wouldn't be easy to get work, I don't care about my washer bottle, etc etc etc) I just want my insturments.

um.....
No offence but uh... Why are you removing the ECU entirely? My assumption is that you're going to put in a whole new system that needs no ECU...
Oh wait MS/DIZZY install that says it all. Silly me.
And um, you will care about your washer bottle. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but in the end... you'll care. That's like saying, I don't care about defrost.
To answer your question about ECU, well at the very least I know that your tach won't work....check out the: "Gounding how to" stiky at the top of this forum where it gives a limited pin read out for the ECU.

I'm pretty sure all will work without doing anything. they are compleatly seprate.
well maybe not the boost gauge since you'll be removing the stock pressure sensor. but who cares about that gauge.

boost gauge wont work. becuase you wont have a pressure sensor. and the coolant temp gauge wont work. when you cut out the pass. side wireing harness. theres a wire for the water temp gauge in there, its yellow with a white stripe, connect it to water temp sensor, i think its on the drivers side of the block. also. if you care.....the connection for the wipers, and the connector for the cruise control is on the pass side wireing harness, you can seperate those two from each other very easily. other than that, as long as you leave the drivers side harness alone, everything else should work. unless you rip that out, then nothing will work unless you rig some stuff up.

boo..oooo.oooo....oost gague? What's that? Mine's an all-rotor motor.
So... long story short; leave the drivers-side harness in and everything will work... minus the coolant temp sensor. Coo'
Any input on how to get the car to START w/o the ECU? hehehe... I wanna be perpared when I tear out my engine and throw the standalone in a couple of weeks.
