Mazdatrix t-stat?!?!

I just got my new T-stat, o-ring and WP housing gasket in from Mazdatrix today? Is the thermostat supposed to be a Stant one? I thought they sold OEM ones only?

What would be the difference anyway? Stant is the leader in thermostats and thats what I have in my FC.

so has anyone bought one from them? I paid $17.27 for this one. Shouldn't it be a Mazda one?

Is that some kind of ironic joke?

You might want to do a search for Stant and read about all the negtive exxperiences people have had with their thermostats.

Ok I spoke with Mazdatrix and they said that the OEM 89-95 T-stats have been failing lately because the rubber in them fails due to a chemical reaction with the coolant so they have switched to Stant for these years. I'm going to go ahead and try it and see how it works.

Do yourself a favor and order an OEM tstat from a mazda dealer. If you dont believe anyone in this thread, atleast go to the archive and read the stant vs oem thread about tstats. Id use the stant tstat until you can get an OEM to replace it.

Do a search for "**** stant" and you'll find a good thread against it.
Edit: Its in the archives.

I haven't ordered anything, waiting to hear something from ya'll. From the response I just got it doesn't sound like I'll be ordering a tstat from Mazdatrix.

Many months ago I purchased an OE thermostat from Mazdatriz as they have the correct part number listed. When I recieved the thermostat it was a Stant. I contacted them and they stated that was all they sell and they don't carry the OE anymore. I recommended that they state that in their listing, as I could buy the Stant at Advanced for about $5 less and not worry about the shipping.

Guess they never changed the description.

Guess they did!

Their S4 thermostat is still OEM, I just received one less than two weeks ago.
