Intake Tubing

Hey guys, I was wondering, I wanted to get some aluminum tubing and do some wedling to make aluminum intake tubing. I was just wondering if this would cause the temperature of the air passing through to increase or if there would be any negative affects.

Any metal tubing is going to heat soak in the engine bay. That's why nearly every OEM intake tube is some form of plastic. There are coatings you can do to your aluminum tubing to reduce this like ceramic or the classic heat wrap (though heat wrap looks kind of weird).

Or, just make it out of plastic and paint it with aluminum paint.
