Mazdatrix Rubber Antenna
I just bought the mazdatrix rubber antenna and installed it. The antenna only connects to the cable that runs to the the radio. There aren't any other wires or connectors. Right now i have my stock power antenna assembly tucked where the stock scissors jack goes (its hidden under the carpet)....There's a connector that goes from the antenna assembly to the speakers.....If i fully remove the stock assembly, I get no sound (from either the cd output or tuner output)...Is there a way to rewire the speakers do i can ditch the stock antenna assembly altgother? (Rubber antenna is connected to Radio jack, stock antenna is tucked away but still connected to speakers).....Thanx..... And yes i searched.

Just plug it in and leave it alone. If you don't care about AM FM radio and only care about looks then remove the antenna and put a grommet in the antenna hole on the deck lid.
If I'm not mistaken...
The power antenna triggers a relay to the head unit as a "turn on" signal right?

The name of the Shop is:WALMART!.I paid like 12 buckc Canadian.
The antenna works like a Charm.Good reception.
I ditched the old retractable antenna as it not longer worked, and the Kids around here like to Break off **** like that.

The mazdatrix one is just a generic rubber antenna, and not any better than any other short antenna. Anytime an antenna is less than 31.5 inch's, it will have reduced reception when compared to a standard height antenna.

yeah but there is still different quality generic antennas.. and there are many different designs out there. i don't imagine mazdatrix just went out and bought a random antenna they found at walmart. I'm sure they did some research to find one of higher quality and fitment..

On these antennas (the universal rubber ducky) they are all made by the same company (Harada), and then sold under a dozen different names and locations.
