The auto trans driveshaft is too short. IIRC it is just about 1 inch or so too short. The thing you can do is take the auto tranny driveshaft, pull the slip yoke off, purchase a new u-joint from rockford driveline and put it on an N/A driveshaft...

AHAA! this explains my mystery shaft!...before my na went i haad replaced the driveshaft.This took some experimentation to find the proper one from the junkyard,and i ended up with 3 in the end.after the turbo swap,i found one that works,but is an inch too short,and i couldn't figure out why? never occurred to me that they made an automatic tranny too

I had mine like that forever, and the only reason it's slightly different now is because I finally upgraded to a T2 rear. Never once had a problem, minus having too much power for the AXLES to handle.
