Mazda heritage parts program

Just read that Mazda is adding the FC and FD with a list of 30 parts that will be reproduced. Hopefully it will be expanded and made available in the US.

Hopefully there’s a plan to greatly expand the list of parts as it looks a little slim so far. I want full resto like the miata catalog. Even if the majority of the stock remains in Japan, we need to have option to order from North American dealers.

The selection is small, sure, but I hope it will grow.

its interesting with the miata list, Mazda USA had the parts before we had the list (and some sold out right away), with the Rx7 list i haven't checked much, but it doesn't seem like Mazda USA got the parts (actually it doesn't seem like they have any parts for anything lately)

I sure hope 5 lug rear brake calipers make it on the list, as they literally don't exist anymore.

Though I will say it would be nice to get a mazda reman Turbo II block. Though, I wouldn't want to order S4 housings for an S4 setup. I highly doubt if they did remans again, they would offer S4 and S5's with S5 housings.

If you purchase a new iron from Mazda it comes as an updated one with larger dowel pin castings whether you order an s4 or s5 iron. They just updated the design in general as time went on. I think the housings are the same as well.

I'm not doubting you, but are you sure? As far as rotor housings go, I've always experienced/been told that the S5 chrome is superior to the S4. It would make sense from a manufacturing standpoint to update the chroming process for all of them, though.

I'm actually waiting on my rear rotor housing, its on back order. According to Mazda Motorsports, it should be here from japan at the beginning of January, and I'll hopefully have it not long after.

Is that list going to get bigger? Because its pretty mediocre as it stands. All the old trim plastics are getting old and brittle in pretty much every FC out there and will need replacement but there's no parts available.
