Lack of flames?

Well yea, like I mentioned in the other post, I bolted up the bonez midpipe to my CS catback. I have an 87 NA with pretty much all emissions removed and 6 ports open but im not getting any flames lol. Is that ok?

Back when my '88 was still n/a I had flames between hard shifts. I also had T-II secondary injectors and an MSD. Didn't run too rich on the top end. Worked great and popped some serious flames. Then again my mufflers were straight through also.

You would need to take out the cats. If your trying to make flames with gutted cats. Be careful! I've heard they fill up with fuel and go BANG BANG! fly apart

Well, there r more things to have flames:

1) header+cat-free silencer-free exhaust
2) warmed-up engine
3) hard shifts under full throttle
4) wrong setting of TPS - the richer fuel mixture u have, the bigger flames :-)))... the bigger consumption. U can have flames even with a good set TPS with points 1-3, but they r quite rare ;-)

My opinion

lol i think posts like this are cute.

we're concerned about getting flames rather than making our cars faster? well i guess i have my priorities all messed up. lol just kidding.

I think you should just buy my exhaust guy. i have the mazdatrix true dual setup and it's pretty sweet. (it'll for sure allow for some sweet *** flames. i ran my car rich a while back and got about 4 foot flamers comin out of her.)

i am planning on putting a 20b into my n/a so i don't think 2 outlets on a header is gonna work. i think i might need another outlet for saftey reasons :-)

No its like flames are the primary concerns, I was just kinda surprised when I didnt see any. Im running pretty much a straightpipe from the exh. manifold back.

Why do you want to be a heatscore shooting out flames? Is this for the track or want to be shooting flames out on a daily driver?
