I wouldnt do that. If your interested in getting a turbo engine, buy one from the forums or from one of the reman companies. I have heard nothing but horror stories about the "JDM" engines off ebay. Most importers do not offer even start garuntees on rotaries they import. Kinda tells ya something

yeah you can find a rebuilt us turbo motor for around 1k on here. you want an s4 motor to make life a little easier. 87-88 years. to make it even easier get an 87-87.5 motor with the low impedance injectors

I never seen one on Ebay that offered a warranty or been compression tested or even like that on a true importers website. Got links?

15 days isn't a lot of time to do a N/A to turbo conversion, even harder to go S5 turbo.

This one has a one month warranty, a bunch of the ones I've seen before have a 90 day warranty.

How much money do you have to work with? If you just have enough for a motor, you're going to need more.

Have a series 4 RX-7? Get a series 4 engine to save yourself alot of wiring headache.

Likewise with the series 5's.

Yeah, I bought a JDM S5 Engine from Ebay. It came with EVERYTHING that I needed to drop into my RHD RX7 Shell (this shell came with no wires, nothing but rust and metal). The bad news, it's got really low compression on the Front Rotor. Otherwise, I'm another step closer to completing this "Project."

DONT NOT BUY A JDM OFF EBAY! I bought an S4 T2 jdm off ebay and they said it had SOLID compression......F No! Soon as i get it i checked the compression and 2 of the rear apex seals where stuck. (either carbon build up or flatten springs. Im just gonna get new apex seals and the cheap overhaul gasket kit and tear the whole thing apart. Im pissed because I know i could have gotten something better from this site.

why get a turbo motor?
Just get a standalone and a turbo with intercooler and a exhaust mani that mates up.
It might not have as much power as a s5 T2 engine but it will be a hell of a lot easier to do.

That is a good deal.

A cut harness means you will need a TII engine harness, and you will still need an ECU, AFM, boost sensor, maybe a few other things (unless you go without emissions )

Remember you cannot use the TII trans with the N/A driveshaft. You can get one that will go from the TII trans-> N/A differential from Mazdatrix. Or you can put your N/A flywheel on the TII engine and use all the N/A driveline until you get everything together.

Be sure to find out what all you will get:
-Does the trans still have the starter?
-Slave cylinder?
-What sensors/accessories are on the engine?
-Does he have an ECU?

Find out as much as you can.

Good Luck!!!

DJ

yeah cheap way out is to use na tranny and flywheel on the t2 motor.. and hopefully by the time the trans bites it, you will have the money to utilize the stronger turbo trans. so with that motor you will need a us spec s4 turbo harness, computer, afm, knock box, boost pressure sensor and fuel pump

If you have an s4 car, get an s4 engine. Get an s5 and you will have to deal with compatibility issues. That's what I did, and now I'm using a standalone.
