Its an AFM.

Get a new one or have a TID made.

The pipe you're speaking of.

Turbo inlet duct.

yup that's what i did...

had a pipe the same size as the turbo mouth bent into sort of an S shape (used a thick copper wire to mock the shape up)

then had the end flared to the size of the AFM mouth...

i have no BOV re-circulation, or other crap.. so it's just a straight pipe..

does making a TID really make that big of a differance in performance? i guess the stock hose doesn't seem that restrictive to me, or is the airbox restrictive?

Trike: RETed's site explains why. But helps raise boost.

FC3s_nataku: Contact RETed. he might be able to help you out.

It doesn't help raise boost directly. It helps flow so the turbo can suck in more air easier and faster which can result in higher boost.

If you have the money and connections go find some 3inch piping and then get a few rubber couplers.

If you don't have $$ then go to Home Depot Racing.
a foot or so of PCV(ABS I think actually) then a 45 bend and some rubber couplers for piping.

I think the turbo OD is 2inches. The AFM OD is 3 I think.

The turbo inlet is 60mm (2-3/8").

Here's my TID. IMHO it's one of the better ones around here...
