Talking Installed new exhasust

Last October I bought a '86 RX-7 NA with 96K. I've found this forum to be an excellent source of information and filled with great advice. I've done most of the maintenance and trouble tips (ie grounding, resoldering, redline, ATF,etc..)
Last night I bolted on the Bonez Superflo pipe and RP catback exhaust. The difference in performance is amazing. The exhaust tone is great.

This could be in part due to the plugged cat. The first cat fell apart, plugging the second one.

Does anyone bump the timing more than what the book specs? I set mine for factory, but was wondering if it would be beneficial to advance some.

Be careful if you do. Do a search for a thread of mine called "Should I Advance My Timing." Lots of great info on what to and not to do when advancing your timing.

Not to be a dick,

I love that pic

Seriously, there is lots of info on advancing your timing if you do a search. I did it to mine, and am very happy with the results.

Sorry, I did a search on timing, but did not come up with the one you referenced. I will look for it. I'm just excited about the power gain. It was always on the slow side until now.

Thanks. I searched and found the info. Why would advancing my timing affect my TPS?

I set it to factory specs, it was retarded. The car sat for four years before I bought it, I don't want to push my luck. Although it does not smoke or show many signs or wear.

I did notice it turns over a few more times before it starts after I adjusted the timing.

OK, OK
So you make the search thing look easy. Thanks again. I know its seems to irritate some people when the same topic is asked over and over. I searched the archive and it came up with 7 threads. I will check out the ones you referenced now. I really appreciate the help.
