im hitting a wall
im hitting a wall
ive already posted something about this a million times and i keep changing the title so it wont get noticed. i guess no one here knows. first off. my car is an 86 with a rebuilt motor, full exhuast, 5th/6th ports wired open, throttle body modification, rats nest removal. all done properly. brand new fuel pump, brand new fuel injectors, new fuel filter, and spark plugs. tried 2 different ecu's. added ground to fuel pump, battery, upper intake, and main ecu harness ground on top of block and all 4 ecu grounds at ecu base itself. i guess my secondary injectors are not firing becuase i cannot go past 3800 rpm no matter how hard i press the pedal. i tried reseting tps a few times and timing a few times to see if it would help. its had this problem since i first got it running again after it sat for 3 years. car runs awesome and pulls hard as **** but i cant go past 3800... you think i could have by coincidence gotten 2 bad ecu's? i think its unlikely... all wiring is fine traced it all out. HELP, i would like to actually be able to hit redline in this beast!
does it rev past 3800 at idle? You could try switching the primary and secondary injector locations to see if the car runs. If it does it is most likely not an issue with your injectors but rather the wiring to them.
i have that same problem(FD3S)... My car was flooded so i took it to the dealer to get it deflooded. my car never boosted past 5 psi and my second turbo never acuated. After picking my car up tonight they told me it doesnt run that well and it has more problems that i should get looked at. after driving it i cant really take it past 2.5K-3.8k... it revs freely though. it feels like im hitting a wall even at 2.5K...
Before i take it to another shop and get it compression tested i thought i'd replace the fuel filter and maybe check my boost sonsor.

While this is bumped I should fix my ^ post. I stated the injectors I meant the secondarys coming online specificly, the P would still give fuel if there is no other probablems.
IIRC "I could be wrong" The ECU must see a certain amount of VACC or BOOST and 3.8kRPM to turn the S injectors on. This would probably not allow them to fire without load.

My car was having problems firing the secondary injectors. My aux ports were opening just fine, but I'd get brick walls from 3.8K all the way to redline... it jerked about instead of smooth. I also had just lost power under 3k when I took my car down for replacing the vacuume hoses (they were all hard and I had myself cranked rich as possible). I'm with iceblue when he says that injectors have nothing to do with revving past 3.8K
I'm guessing you have a grounding problem.
