FD wheels (not in faq)

yea yea i know 25mm or 1" ... NO that wasnt my question

actually i bought a partes car with the wheels already installed, but the previous owner used a 8mm spacer with 205/50/16's seems like there was no issues with clearance on stock suspension. in the back there was no spacers with 225/50/16's. Again no issues, seems to clear everything just fine but i'll double check once i get a chance to work on my car.

my question was with the 8mm spacers in the front and non in the rear. Im going to have to get new rubber but i was wondering what would be the best tire combo? should i stick with the 205/50/16's in the front and 225/50/16's in the rear or get something else.

if this info is somewhere else please link cause i already searched a few times with no results.

so what you are asking isn't really about FD wheels at all but what size tires you should run.....

what are you doing with the car?track driving?streetdriving?

for street I would say thats fine
for track I would say whatever your preference is.....I prefer a square footed car, but thats just me....

well i didnt know what else to call the thread lol ... i figured calling a thread "fd wheels" in a fc section would give people the idea that im talking about fitment.

umm well its going to be for street, at least for now. Maybe even say street and spirited driving. I wont be drag racing the car so i dont need massive amounts of rubber, I really just want the most stable tire setup with what i already have. Eventually i will be autoXing but that wont be for awhile the way things are going now. But anyways what tire combo did you think would be fine?

8mm spacers up front will not work unless we're talking about some super skinny profile dampers up front.

I had 11mm spacers in the front for my FD rims, which are 17's, and they barly cleared, and i had 215's.

but i bought the car with 205/50/16 w/ the 8mm spacers on stock suspension and everything was fine ... i was just curious if i could run a slighty larger tire like maybe a 215 or 225

i guess i'll have to wait till i have some garage time and test fit the 225's with the 8mm spacer

if it has 205/50 in the front and 225/50 in the rear, make it easy bolt a rear tire on the front and check if it rubs, its should, i have 225/50 and i needed a 25mm spacer, there was no way to make it work without it, only reason it may work with the smaller spacer is cause of the little tires

i had 25mm spacers on the front of my FC and there was about 1/8th of an inch clearance from the spring...
