IAT Sensor Issue

I've got an S5 'vert w/airbags and am having an issue with my IAT.

After several minutes of steady driving, or idling once warmed, my check engine light pops on. While the light is on, engine dies under moderate throttle. Switching the key to accessory and back will fix it for 15min.

I've replaced the sensor, as well as cleaning grounds, and no change it operation. Any ideas?

Pull the codes on the engine.
It may not even be the IAT.

Your OMP code is more important than the other code. Ignoring this code could lead to the ECU being damaged by a failing OMP.

Sounds like the ecu is going into limp mode. I had an omp pump housing crack and burned up the chip on the ecu, visually inspect your pump for damage and get it fixed or remove it and start premixing if needed.

Your suggestion makes no sense.
If it is indeed the OMP,He can't remove his OMP as he has an S5,so he will still BE in Limp mode if he premixes.
The ECU needs to see the OMP or it will still be in Limp mode. That means he can't disconnect it from the electrical system.
Either taking it off,or hanging it,will be the same thing.Premixing with it still connected will do nothing.
The car will still run like ***.

So,if it is the OMP,remove and replace the OMP..OR get a RTEK chipped ECU and THEN premix.
For what it's worth,I'd think about the chipped Ecu.

Why?.the OMP on the S5 is garbage. For the price of an OMP you can get the ECU chipped.
I'd rather know that the engine will run correctly at all times rather than rely on some poorly made "limp mode machine" that Mazda thought was an Improvement over the mechanical OMP of the S4.
The OMP on s5's is why I never Went to an S5...then again the S5 is in a emissions bracket that needs E-testing.(I stick with the 87,86 S4 models.)

^This. Had the exact same issue and premixed with the Rtek chip instead of dicking around with more OMP issues. You could even swap a mechanical s4 OMP after instaling the chip if you so desire
