when you insert the key into the ignition, and turn the key to accesory mode, their is a hissing comming from the engine bay, and you can begin to smell gas, i think its the injectors spraying, and i dont think that is normal....its done this since i purchased the car. what should i do?

smelling gas is never a good thing and suggests a leak. Do not drive the car until the problem is found and fixed.
are you sure you are just switching to the ACC position and not the ON position. Do the dash idiot lights light up when you switch the key to the ACC position?

Okay the position before the car starts is the ON position, not the ACC position. The ACC position is the first position forward on the key. That is all you should need for the radio to be on.
Yes in the ON position the fuel pump will be ON.

icemark is right in on position the pump will keep running ,as in my other car when we removed the engine we drained the whole gas tank, by turning it to the on position.
if it is a "hissing" like a leaking sound. could be your pulsation damper is leaking hard-core. it can start spraying gas and cause fire!, search for it on the forum,

Have you tried turning the little **** on the light switch? You know, the one that controlls the brightness of the gauge lights? I know, it's a stupid question, but somone has to ask it.

Just take the blue pill..
do you have aftermarket gauges? it could be the little switch they came with is starting to take a *****. if not when you turn the light switch to full on, see if your tail lights are on, if they are out as well as your gauge lights, you have a bad light switch my friend.

What's really funny is, I accidently wired the power for my aftermarket gauges into the headlight motor wire instead of the illumination wire. Now my gauges come on when I put up the light housings for any reason.
Cool thing though, I painted the clear lightpipe thingy with clear red paint, so my white gauges have red front illumination. It looks perty sweet.

Sorry, but turning the key to ON does not make the fuel pump run. I'm sure that was a mental lapse from a post above.
The fuel pump only runs when the key is held to START or upon the engine actually running and the key is THEN returned to ON . If the engine did NOT start and the key returned to ON, the fuel pump will not run.
The only exception is if the fuel pump check connector is jumpered. If that is done then turning the key to ON will make the pump run.
If the pump runs when the key is to ON and the engine is not running and the fuel pump check connector is not jumpered, then maybe the vane in the afm is stuck slightly to open making the fuel pump switch inside the afm.
If you turn the key to ON and the car is not running, you need to find out why. If you smell gas, you need to find out where it is coming from.
Jumper the fuel pump check connector. REmove the upper manifold and turn the key to ON. The pump should run and pressurize the rails. It's leaking right over there......see?
