I found an aluminum hood but its from an s5 so what is the easiest way to tell if it is the same white as my car?

 

did you check the vin plate on the firewall, it should be there.

I'm going to say it's most likely Dover white.

I'm pretty sure crystal white was first available on the 10thAE in 88. And I think Noble is a TII color as well, but not really sure.

 

so it wouldnt match my car unless i had a 10ae? that sucks, and the hood is only $100 too

 

Who cares if its barely off your lucky you got a WHITE, some rx7 guys have different painted fenders/doors/mirrors and hoods and don't care.

 

ya thats kinda what i was thinking, does anybody know how far off the tone would be from a 10ae and an s4. and also, how much do you estimate to get a hood repainted???

 

i'm sure they arn't off by all that much, if you are getting it painted though it shouldn't matter. Also the estimate can depend on dings etc. basically the condition of the hood.

 

well if its in perfect condition meaning no repairs, just paint. what do you think it would cost to have it painted

 

don't paint it. Our entire region is filled with multi colored RX-7's. If yours is one color, you'll make the rest of us look bad.

 

ya because michigan is like one big rusthole. it got my driverside fender this year

 

My car is an 86 and it is Dover white, that is the only year they ever made that color. So i think you have noble white, not sure.

 

thanks alot, thats the answer i have been waiting for. does anyone else know for sure that an 87 base is noble white?

 

To rephrase the question posted earlier, whu don't you look at your VIN? You know, the plate under your hood, on the firewall next to the wiper motor? That'll tell you at least what color white YOUR car is. It's a little hard to guess without even seeing it. I suppose you could send us some paint chips!

BTW, my 87 Base was not white at all.
