so i bought a carburetor at the junk yard that semmed beter than mine
and now it idles higher and when i mess witht he adjusting screw it boggs
my old one just sticks most of the time

is my high idle only caused by my carb or is there more to it???

Your topic title pretty much says it all.

You could start by explaining why your car has a carb instead of the fuel injection it was born with.

i belive the word i was looking for was 'Upper Manifold' not carburetor

but in all seriousness
should i purchase a rebuilt one?
or
take it to a shop?
or
is my problem something much simpler as in sum minor adjustments

there is a screw on the top that you can adjust to lower the idle. It might still have the black rubber cap on it.

right right
that was the first thing i tried
its pretty much made no difference
"/

i noticed that the old upper manifold i had before
was closed more than the newer upper manifold i bought
just slightly so the new one lets more air in i think
and im hopeing that my only problem

you know the air feul mixture ratio is too high
which might cause my car to idle with out bogging on higher rpms
but when i lower it its just boggs like crazy

so idk i was hoping someone has had the same problem

do you have an air compressor?

I think you have a vacuum leak.

well one, i would check the TPS, that is throttle position sensor, why because you are messing with idle, why not... do a quick search easy test...

then get yourself a Haynes or search for Idle adjustment, I think there is a writeup at mazdatrix.com or somewhere on here I am postive...

there is a plug on the DS by the coil you have to jump, initial set coupler or something, dunno
then you have to adjust a variable resistor on the passenger side that little thing is on the passenger side behind the air box, while tweaking that is when you tweak the air/fuel mix, you probably didn't need a new intake in the first place, but who knows right...
just search for IDLE ADJUSTMENT, you will find your answer..
and don't go doing what I said, search there are pictures and what not to help you get your **** done right...
as a matter of fact here is a thead with a bunch of pics...
https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/pictures-various-sensors-na-reference-671004/
here is a pic of the variable resitor on the passenger side its the black oval shaped part on the bottom, with two screws on the side and a scew in the center of an insert

here is the pic of the DS, one of those green plugs is the inital set coupler

obviously you know what this is

and in this picture i put an arrow pointing to the TPS and it sas TPS and then I circled the adjustment screw, you need an OHM reader to measure the sweeps, digital is the best but as long as it will read 1 ohm to 6 ohm you should be okay

and i guess that could look like a carburetor to someone that is a little less than mechanically inclined, or new to the trade... simple mistake there..
