Well buddy, I can't help ya on telling you what your 3rd gen insurance is gonna cost...I've got a 2nd gen. What I will tell you...from recent experience. No matter what kind of insurance you get on it, make sure that you ALWAYS have uninsured motorist insurance. This lady hit me, and she had no insurance. It was her fault, but she still won't be able to pay for it. The only saving grace for me was the fact that I had uninsured motorist insurance to cover up for other people's boo boos. There's like 30% of drivers out there who have no insurance, so watch out for the other guy! Sorry about that rant but just some words of wisdom from a fellow 7 owner.

Ok, you're 16, not licensed to drive (yet), have an FD, and live on the east coast. Most RX-7s, especially turbo's are extremely high risk propositions to insurance companies in general-- (try to insure a Shelby Cobra knockoff....)

With your lack of experience --nothing personal, just with everything the more you do something generally the better you get at it.

That said, a $2k annual premium w/liability, comp, collision, and under/uninsured included and low liability limits. You may be better off titling the car in a parents name and getting on their policy. Of course, on brain lapse screw up and you'll sock their rates for several years also.

Pretty much whatever you do, the world is going to be against you for a while. Get a couple speeding tickets and it will be a long while.
