89 gxl problems running

ok guys i got this 89 gxl and it has 176k on it orginal motor, the problem is we think its flooded like as soon as i put my foot to the floor it started right up......heres the thing i got it from anther dude he ran outta gas and ever since he filled it up afterwards it ran like **** like it smokes blue smoke and it hesitates or misses. Now today i started it up and it did that same thing....now could it be low compression or could it be bad gas and shitty plugs becasue it was flooded? like i was thinken to put new plugs in it and wires and a fuel filter and sum new gas like 93 octane with sum 2-stroke oil and maybe sum 550cc injectors all the way around then try to see it start up? u think its a good idea becasue it is stock and well the exhasut sounds liek **** too so im guessen the cats are plugged, im also thinken about opening them up and getting open exhaust????? so i hope sumone knows sum **** about this i would gladly apperciate your input guys....

thankx

If the tank had not been flushed in a while, chances are when he ran it dry he did a couple of things.

I am sure he clogged the filter and sent junk down the lines that clogged an injector open.

May have also damaged the fuel pump as they use gas to cool the pump, although I would think that it would be running very lean then.

Anytime you have a major flood, you want to change the oil as well, as the gas will seap past the seals and make compression even harder to maintain. May want to do add some ATF to each rotor and see if you can get compression back.

Hey I put a whole bottle of rubbing alcohol in mine to raise the octane after it was sitting for like a year. It worked for me Don't think people would recommend doing that though.

The bushings are pretty cheap. They sell the kits at www.mazdatrix.com, think its like $20 or so for all the bushings you need.

Try adding a bottle of fuel injection cleaner with 1/2 tank of gas. Drive the **** out of the car to clean the injectors. Then on the next fill up, add a bottle of MMO with 3/4 tank of gas to clean out everything else.
It should help.

Good luck and Merry christmas
