Arrow HOW TO: Polish a Turd (project 1988 T2)

Well I am going to proceed with operation "save a bucket". Here is the plan

STEP-1- Body and paint (including step 2)
STEP-2- Pull the engine (bad soft seals)
STEP-3- Insert rebuilt engine
STEP-4- Install Carb (set up for blowthrough) and ignition
STEP-5- Install S4-S5 Turbo
STEP-5.5- Get exhaust
STEP-6- Rims/tires
STEP-7- Drive

The car already has Full RB suspension including sway bars, stainless brake lines, and well that is about it....

pictures from Day 3 filing in dings/dents so I can shoot it with paint... More pictures to come..

Just for fun I used up the extra mixed clear on the fender of the "turd".

I sprayed over the flat black paint that was on the fender..

Threw in a couple shots of the Desk I just painted a lady at work.

i used DUPONT HOT HUES paint.. Awesome stuff.. Went on smooth and covered extremely well..

i am. the reason i am is i was thinking that the car is a 10th Anniversary. the reason i believe that it is is because the only white turbo 7 in 88 was the 10AE. it had the black interior, also only reserved for the 10AE. the paint code for the AE is UC. i'd be interested to see the last six of the vin as well.

It was not a 10th AE, the interior was blue (I dyed the dash myself). The chassis was manufactured in late 87 but was sold as a 1988 model (titled as an 88)

ok, that makes sense. i guess it would then be a noble white car originally. glad to see that you're bringing the car back from the dead. i'll be excited to see more pics of the car!

Well I removed the Spoiler... Looks better already.

I wonder if I can sell the spoiler... Some honda trunk is probably begging for it...

Well I am almost done with the bodywork on this side (only work needed). All I need to do is replace the passenger door, and fill in the holes from the spoiler..

The paint on there is just cheapo spraypaint, I was using it as a guide coat to see where the imperfections are.

I am going to take the hatch and have it tinted..

Unfortunately there is no Code on it.. The door is off another car and the sticker on the frame has no paint code.. Also the hood is not from this car..lol.

Found a shot from about 2 years ago, before I let my b-in-law get his mits on it..
