How to bypass the dimmer?
Interior lights dimmer randomly stopped working in my '86 FC a few days ago... Never dim the lights anyway so I thought I'd just bypass it. Before I pull the switch apart to bridge over the dimmer circuit stuff, is there an easier method? I haven't been able to find anything about how to bypass the dimmer, only that it can be bypassed.. Surely not everyone is taking their switch assy apart for this??

Ended up taking it apart and hard wiring the bypass.. For others with the same problem, all you need to do is bridge the collector and emitter of the big transistor/mosfet on the switch circuit board.
Just pull the switch stuff out of the surround, open it up, locate the mosfet collector/emitter ends and bridge them. You don't even have to take the board out (Look through the vent thing to see which solder joints on the underside correspond to the mosfet).

Note: The rightmost pin when looking at the mosfet through the vent is the base, its not laid out like an everyday transistor. Go look at the datasheet for 2SA1185 for a clear pinout diagram
