Yellow Clip

Hello,
Could anyone tell me, or help direct me in telling me what the yellow harness/plug is on top?

Will try and attach photo. I’m new here.
Thanks,
What’s the yellow?

Reason I ask

The reason I ask is that I noticed that it was left unplugged. Not sure if it was for any reason? I’m restoring my car and wasn’t sure if my dad left it unplugged for some reason?

Thanks!

I believe that is for the EGR. If unplugged the EGR wont get vacuum to open / close.

Factory Service Manuals are easily available for RX7s on the internet at foxed.ca
Not sure if you have an NA or Turbo, but related info will be in the "Fuel and Emission Control Systems" section.

For an S4, the yellow connector is for the EGR solenoid valve (https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generati...x7-tii-920103/)

Sorry. It’s NA.
Thanks for the helpful replies.
Maybe it was intentionally unplugged? Maybe not? Not really sure. I plugged it back in for now.

Thank you.

Reasons I can think for intentional unplug is that you don't want the EGR to function because of a vacuum leak which messes with idle speed and other running issues. Vacuum leak can be caused by the EGR diaphragm being torn.

I'm not 100% sure if disconnecting the plug closes or opens the solenoid valve (the part the connector is attached to). I'd assume disconnect = always closed, but I'm not certain.
