VT Hose on intake, where does it go?

Hey all,
My 87 N/a has a hose that comes off the air intake (the big hose that connects the air box with the TB), yet is not connected to anywheres, after it leaves the intake tube. Is this the way it is supposed to be or is it supposed to connected someplace? Seems odd just hanging there.
Also I noticed it looks like there should be a hose attached to the air filter housing, but I do not have one connected there either. Where would this one go? From air box to????

Thanks all and many thanks with all of my RX problems so far. Previous owner really must not have cared about the car.

Both of them? One at air box (if looking at filter box) top right corner there is a hose nipple. I have no hose there.
Then go up the intake towards the TB 3/4 way up or so. There is a hose on the tube/hose with a hose that comes off it. It just dangles there. Where does this one go? I would think someplace right? Not just open and hanging. Kinda defeats the air filter since this hose sucks in air (I think) then into TB, with no filtration? Sounds odd.
Looking at my haynes, I do beleive the hose on the filter box goes to air pump, but if anyone could confirm this that would be great. But the other is not shown at all in my manual. There is a hose nipple where the hose attaches on the intake hose/tube so I know there is supposed to be one there.

The one at the air box goes to the air pump and the one off the large plastic intake hose feeds to a metal tube ( 1/2 to 3/4 inch diameter) situated right above the thermovalve at the rear of the throttle body.

the one that has the nipple on the box is just that. The nipple is Stock.
The BIG *** Tubular Pipe goes to the Throttle body.
There is another hose that leads around to the Rear passenger of the S4 N.A engine and gets attached to a steel pipe.Like an Oil pipe looking thing.
What are you Trying to do?, throw a Cone filter on it?,.or put the stock air box on???

It has the stock box and filter, just when changing filter (just bought this rx a month ago) I noticed that there was no hose on the air box nipple, and the hose on the intake tube was on the tube but hanging straight down connecting to nothing.
Thanks Ill go hook them up.
Could this have lead to a random flooding? Whats the purpose of these 2? Just trying to figure out why the old owner would have unhooked them. All original no mods.

The one to the air box supplies air to the ACV. If the emissions were deleted then there is no need for the hose. It being unplugged should not lead to any flooding problems. The hose off the intake feeds air to both the BAC and Air Bypass valve and again, should not affect an engine's ability to flood or not.

Ok sounds good thanks for the info though. Just trying to see if my 1 time random flood was due to this. Thanks.
