So I'm gona put some series 4 coupe taillights onto my convertible. I realize I'll be missing the trunk release with this conversion, but I will have the release from inside the car. I have seen writeups for s5->s4 or s4->s5 conversions, but nothing on coupe to vert conversions. Have there been anywriteups on this, or anything else to consider when doing this swap? Any crazy ideas for other alternate trunk release options?

I have the taillights, and I need to replace mine. I'm trying to do it as cheap as possible. Keep in mind that I can put alot more time into this than money.

 

its wont work they are to big

 

vert s5 lights are different from hardtop s5 lights

 

Assuming they would fit, you could probably adapt them so the keylock would poke out.

 

i have put convert lights on coupe, never coupe to convert. You just have to swap everything, including the middle license plate thing. So if it was possible to put convert on coupe, i dont see why you cant go cpoupe to convert, ofcourse you will loose the key lock.

That's what I was thinking. I do have both taillights and the license plate holder to swap. I'm glad to hear the vert lights fit on the coupe! I've got a bit of time tomorrow that I plan on spending replacing my taillights and front fenders... Drift damage :-\ I was doing 30mph, was downshifting to second and dropped the clutch when I saw a deer in the road. I slammed on my brakes (I was used to driving my fwd civic) and hit some mud off the side of the road... ran into a fence and de-sexified my convertible.

ScrapFc's been throwing parts at me, so I've lucked out on just about everything (I was only doing 30mph so the damage isn't extreme).

i hear vert tails dont fit what kind of modification would i have to do to get em on there?
