first of all, i have search and i tried what was posted in this thread

when i pop the hood release the hood moves up very slightly. i have looked under the hood and i tried to spray it up with some PB Blaster to maybe loosen it up. for some reason i cannot release the latch to get the hood to pop up. can someone give me a better picture of what it is i need to push on to pop my hood up?

do you need a picture of the hood latch??? or are you asking how to make the hood pop up more when first releasing it?

 

I think you're spraying the wrong area.
Sometimes the hood hinges get a little rusty, which makes it a bear to lift the hood.
Try and shoot some lubricant at the hinges in the back.

if i could get a picture of the hood latch i think it might help. i need to be able to see what i need to pull on to get the hood up. if you know of a way to pop the hood up higher so i can get it fully open i would greatly appreciate it. i sprayed everything i could see and some things i couldnt see. i did get the hood open one time, and sprayed everything that was associated with the hood release system. i put it down and now it wont go back up again.

 

sounds more like the latch is out of adjustment

i forgot to add, the hinges in the back move fine. i think the hood is going too far down and getting stuck inside the latch somehow.... not sure though

 

well i got it open the brace from the frame to the hood latch is causing my latch to move to a point where the finger release wont let the hood move, it seems loose and kinda bent so i am gunna have to hit a junk yard and see if i can get a hood latch and maybe that will fix the problem

 

my camry does the same thing. i use a screwdriver to open the hood because it doesnt pop up and it will only lock if i drop the hood from 3 in up, no more no less.
