high idle.

wat could cause my car to idle at 1500rpm? i have no airpump no acv the o2 sensor for exhasut isnt hooked up, acv is blocked off. no cats.

Check your thermowax on the back of the Throttle body. Its where the 2 coolent lines connect. then look down and look for a small piston with a screw shoved up against the bottom of the piston. Push the screw AWAY from the piston of the thermowax and see if your idle drops. I had to stick a nickle between the scrwe and my thermowax cause the idle was real high.

Also check your throttle cable. make sure its not to tight.

have you fooled around with your timing? cause timing will raise and lower your idle.

I know there is more. I cant figure anythig out. I put a list on TeamFC3S.org . try search over there and you will find more info.

im having the exact same problem but when i start mine it will idle at 800RPM but as it warms up the idle will go up to 1500RPM

There's a screw on the top of the TB near the intake man. that adjusts the idle. It should have a black cap thing over it. You might want to check for other problems, though. If you have a Haynes Manual, theres a trouble-shooting procedure on page 21 (section 6 of the troubleshooting section) that outlines the possible causes of a high idle, and the idle adjustment procedure is on page 47 (section 25 of chapter 1).

Another possibility is the TPS.

Do you get pops at idle and when letting off the gas pedal?

My TPS is out of wack, and it idles anywhere between 1500 and 2000. Sometimes it will go down to 750 though..... weird.

im going to try to do wat is explained on www.racingrotary.com/tps.htm because like he mentioned at the bottom in red, i also have that problem -_- i just dont have the tools to do it yet.

i adjusted my TPS a week or so ago and it was exactly at 1K ohms and 5.2K ohms at wot and made a clean sweap

no i didnt do the TB mod
