Question Help...Five bleeps?

...my car started bleeping at me...I don't know if this is a check engine code, but my check engine light has NOT turned on...

..it does five sequential bleeps, pauses, then bleeps five more times again...I checked the Chilton's manual and it says it must have something to do with the O2 sensor...Chilton manuals suck...

The Power Steering CPU is making the beeps. Start troubleshooting there.

You probably installed the Momo wheel wrong.
There is a sensor in the steering column that gets screwed up. You can try to realign the sensor, but you'll probably need to replace it, since steering wheel crushes the plastic ring.

If you pull the power steering fuse, you also will lose rear window defrost, and part of the power antenna circuit.

I've got the same problem - just started a couple of days ago, thing is, I have not done anything at all to the steering - I took the belt off the pump about six months ago as I had a major leak and did not have time to work on it - I'm sure it is the steering sensor as it quits for a few minutes when I turn a corner but then starts again! Does anyone know where the beeper is located so that I can rip it out and throw the damn thing in the nearest snowbank.

The power steering computer is located behind the drivers dash speaker. The power steering warning beeper is built into it.

If you are getting 5 beeps, you did not install the wheel correctly. You broke or mis-aligned the steering wheel position sensor.

Remove the wheel and mount it correctly.

If you are using the proper wheel adapter, it will have two holes in it. These two holes need to line up with the two plastic tabs sticking up from the ring around the steering shaft.

Those plastic tabs of the steering ring must go through the two holes in the wheel adapter.

If you have broken the tabs off (or even worse the ring) then you will need to replace it, as the turn signals, power steering, AAS (if equipped) all use that wheel position sensor.

Then you have broken the sensor or damaged the ring. You need to pull the wheel and check
