Exclamation Help with Crank Angle Sensor

HI okay I am having some trouble with my Rx-7. It turns over but no spark. I have checked all the grounds and did have have to replace my main relay because it was blown. I also checked to see if it was my ecu but no and my coils and everything works. So this leads to my Crank Angle Senor. I tested it and by the haynes manual I have the right Ohms reading but when I checked the Amperage I got funny readings (Yes I know they are not the same) Anyways can anyone help me, Im waiting for a new one to come in but does this sound right? Also a while back my car was doing some funny things but stopped in a month. I would drive it for a little bit and after a couple of minutes my engine light would come on and I would go to give it gas but It would kinda stutter or hesisitate. However stopped doing that and no light came on till one day went to start my car after driving it 2 min ago and nothing, it would crank over though(but no engine light). Waited for awhile and started....but on way home died. So here I am...If anyone has any other ideas on what it might be that would help out alot. Fuses and evreything are good

How'd you check that your coils are working properly and how did you check to see if you're getting spark or not? Is your RPM gauge reading? does it sometimes stop working then start again?

Crank angle sensors don't fail unless you stick something inside them while they're turning. My opinion.

Changed the Main Relay? Pull the four wire plug off and with a meter see if there is power on the two wires coming from the ENGINE bay fuse box. The W/R and W/L wires.

Coils work??????? Can't work unless the crank angle sensor is good. That's confusing. Work means they make spark. Can't make spark unless the CAS is turning over.

Well thanks for the help guys um right now my car doesnt start at all and I put new coils in just to see if that was my problem but no such luck.So I guess thats how I checked my coils. I have a guy working on it right now so he's the one that thinks it might be the CAS. Is there any other reason the CAS might not be working. I'm kinda stuck here lol

I had an s4 CAS fail for no apparant reason, I found out my problem was the ECU ground under the extension manifold..but it wouldn't spark with my s4 CAS only my s5 one would let it spark.

why not just friggin replace the cas with another one? they are a dime a dozen and cost only like 20 bucks AND NEVER BREAK. just get one. if that doesnt work, then theres something else wrong.

maybe the airflow meter? did u try that? did you try unplugging it and starting the car without it in?

Um because where I live (SK, Canada) they are not a dime a dozen...there freakin hard to find, So im trying to get one from B.C. or the states but are part #'s are different so stuff always gets mixed up. Also how does the AFM solve my problem and what does that mean if, unplugged, I have spark.

Take off the spark plugs and put them in the spark plug wire with the spark plug wires still attached to the coil. Take out the CAS and turn the ignition to the on position. Spin the CAS by hand and the coils should work. You should also hear the fuel injectors clicking on and the fuel pump pumping. If none of the above, change the CAS and retry. Also check to see if you're getting power to your coils with an autozone test light if you hear the injectors clicking when you turn the CAS but get no spark at the spark plugs.
