gets hot fast!

exhaust and motor gets hot very fast thought it might be timing when i retard it dies?

Now, how hot are we talking? And why are you trying to retard the timing? Are you using a timing light?

sorry for the word mess... i dont have a light hooked up i set the cas mark then set the crank mark to leading its hard to start has trouble ideling stubles when revs then smoothes out gets hotter than hell and so does the rear header pipe??

its possable? but would it cause the idle to be rough and bouncy?? also when rebuilding is it possable to get on rotor off from 180 of the other?

Are the pulley and hub matched? Considering that they are supposed to be 180* off of one another I would answer the second question with a *no*.... is it possible to get them NOT 180* from eachother, yes.

No. A rotary will only go together one way. Otherwise, it just won't spin. And I mean at all.

When I rebuilt mine, I dropped the thrust bearing, then re-installed the CAS drive gear backwards when I went in to fix it. That'll definitely screw with your timing.

when i first installed the motor it started easy had a stable idle didnt have much power but would drive 55ish fairly easy any sensors be to blame...thanx 4 your help man
