i just finished putting my car back together from replacing the lower intake manifold gasket. car rotates but does not start. while trouble shooting i noticed that the primary fuel injector on the right side ( if looking from the passenger point of view ) was leaking fuel but im not sure if it was coming from the rail itself or if it was bubling up from the slot it sits end. its left quite a bit of fuel collecting at th top of the l i t m anyone have any ideas

thanks
sorry if this post pops up twice having problems with my isp

i'd be frustrated too if i could only use one word thread titles, instead of a thread title with the problem actually in it.

You have leaking fuel and a vac leak probably.

Air Flow Meter, I'm shocked you haven't been flamed yet. Go to the FAQ section and read it.

i thought thats what it stood for but wasnt sure. ive figured out that one of the injectors have gone bad, and replaced the set. so as far as i can tell the leak in that area has stopped. however the car still wont start, it rotates but it wont start. so i did a fuel pressure check and the pump did make the whirring noise, after i un bridged the terminals i turned it to the on position again no whirring noise this time (though im not sure if its supposed whir when the check isnt being done) i dont have a fuel pressure gauge to check for sure but i think the reason the car wont start is due to the pump not pressureizing properly. what i need to know is there another way to see if its the fuel filter thats clogged, if so is there a way to unclog it, or has the fuel pump gone bad. ive been working on fixing the car for a month and a week so could that have caused any problems

Dude...you either have fuel pressure or not...you need to check the fuel pressure with a guage...a Haynes manual has pictures of how to do that....originally I would say your injector leak could have been from the O ring at the top of the Injector that goes into the Boss...

A fuel filter is under $20...go ahead and replace it....when you get your car running it will give peace of mind knowing you should be good for a while on the filter....

If you did the manifold job yourself, how familiar with the Rex are you ? Are you sure you reconnected all the electrical properly ? since it wont start but is cranking, is it getting flooded....rx's are bad about that....If you are getting fuel and doing a lot of cranking most likely you have it flooded...you need to pull a plug after you crank it when it dont start and see if it is wet....If so you gotta unflood it.....I can do it in my sleep but you must not be as familiar with it as others....

More information is needed to diagnose the main reason she is not starting....was she starting before you did the work.....if so, and she is not now you have inadvertenly not put something back in order....

write again with more details and good luck....

thats it ive reached the end of my rope with this ******* car. anyone in the virginia area looking for a turbo II ive got one for sale. as written earlier in this post ive spent a 5 weeks on this car and have gotten nowhere with it. for the most part its back together it rotates but wont start i tried taking out the plugs to see if it was flooded and wouldnt you know it the damn covering on the spark plug has shattered. also with the car is a jdm motor that i bought for my last car which was a 89 gtu was going to do the swap but no one wanted to help such is my case now. ive switched a few parts from one motor to the other such as the starter. as far as i know the spare will run. the people i bought it off said it did so who knows. all this can be yours for 2000 obo

For sale ads belong in the For sale section, not here in the 2nd gen technical section
