Torch is probably the only way. You might try a propane plumbers torch first and get it as hot as you can, or go with a MAPP gas(yellow tank that looks like a tall propane tank) that will get hotter.

You can squirt all the oil on it you want, it wont do any good. The threads are sealed. They have lock tite from the factory.

1inch breaker bar with cheater or a proper impact. If you hafta ask what a proper impact is you dont own one. Throw it in the back of a truck, go to nearest shop, flip them a 10.

Job done.

i agree with bringing it to a local shop and have them but the shop air pressure on it with a nice snap-on or matco impact gun. it will come off.

I was able to get a Truck service Truck(you know they change tires on Big rigs?) to come to the house and zip my Flywheel nut off,so maybe you can locate a shop that does tires.Take the keg and go to the shop,Zip!, and you are done.
Maybe your problem is that you are not securing the Flywheel while trying to take the Front bolt out.You can't put the force needed onto a rolling object and expect it to pop off!

You need to heat it up, period. Red loctite typically used require heat to release. Even the blue stuff holds tight and heat helps a lot.

A torch is $10 at the hardware store. Heat the bolt for about 5 minute and then use the impact on it.

This worked for me! Borrow a small torch or buy one. You'll be done in 10 min. Tools make all the diffrence!

more muscle, and how can you not get a wrench on the bold when you can get a socket on it?

loctite loses its bonding characteristics above 80 degrees celcius, so indeed.. heating is the only way to go

The hub covers the bolt from the sides.

I just got a breaker bar and improvised a poor man's impact gun by hitting the end of it with a mini-sledge. Just be sure the socket is all the way on before you hit it, and make sure the flywheel is braced solidly (I used a concrete step and a crow bar lol).

The breaker bar will probably fly off and try to hit you in the face when you hit it with the hammer, so... be ready lol. I did this TWICE last week and it worked for 2 engines, so it works, its just a bit ghetto.

Heat then impact. Like everyone else is saying, it's probably been lock-tight'd on. Even I apply blue lock-tight to bolts like that. However my impact always takes them right off. A breaker bar honestly probably won't take it off since you can't exert a static amount of pressure without somehow locking the e-shaft down so it won't budge. Otherwise your force is also being transferred through the shaft and into what is holding the the shaft in place.

An impact gun hammer's a tremendous amount of force faster than the force can be absorbed. If I remember correctly, that bolt is only torqued to about <60ish ft.lbs so it's definitely not being held on from being too tight. Also if it's torqued down too tight you crush the copper ring behind it and then develop one hell of a nasty oil leak.

If it was tightened down normally you should only need to heat it with propane for 10 or 15 seconds and then immediately hit it with an impact gun. Never been an issue for me.. [Once I got an impact gun anyway XD]

You have to heat it.

when I was trying to remove mine, no matter what I did (impact, 5 feet cheater bar), it won't even move one bit. the cheater bar almost knock the engine stand off to the floor.

at the end, I have to find my propane torch, heat it up for hmm like a minute or 2, BOOM. Instant off.

spec was about 90 ft lbs. but factory (if it's still factory) probably torque it to like 1000 lbs.

Locktite Red is nutz, even blue is nutz.

I had to hit mine with an impact and it came out slowly. No heat though. I even forgot to take the locking ring off and round it out.
