flooding?

I have a 87 non turbo car that we have had for 5 years and have done nothing to except change the oil and drive. It has always started and ran great, even in cold weather. It does have the 3800 rpm hesitation, which I now have much information on to correct. My concern now is I go out and start the car and it starts right up but when left to warm up in the drive way it loads up like a piston engine does if the choke is not opening. If I let it cool down for 30 minutes it starts right up and runs fine untill it warms up again. No I havnt driven it since it started this. Didnt want to get stuck on the side of the road. Now that better weather is upon us I would really like to drive it again. Im a good mechanic but havnt worked on a rotary before, so any help would be appreciated. Info on the car, 87 N/A 13 B 5spd 4 lug wheels, power steering and A/C, true mileage is un known as the speedo didnt work when we purchased the car. (100,000 plus Im sure) As far as I can tell the car is completly stock, and has had no mods done. I have recently purchased a matching parts car except it is an automatic. So I have many parts to use. I usually check my mails at midnight when I get home from work, so dont think Im ignoring any one.

I would recommend you start with a full tune up. Your description sounds like a car that has been sitting and not driven much for a while. Even if someone tells you that it was just tuned, I would pay attention to the plugs, wires, change the oil and airfilter.

Then drive the old gas out of it and put some fresh Chevron w/techron gas in. Drive it some more.

Good Luck.
