walbro flooding my car?

Hi guys,
Today i was in town with my fc and i was not able to restart it after an 45 minutes stop (engine cranking but not starting), it was the 2nd time this week.
i was able to start the car after pulling the egi fuse off and on . I am use to flooding problem with low compression engine , leaking injector etc.. and i will say what i want exacly : I WANT MY CAR TO START EVERY SINGLE TIME .

Iam curently running my own rebuild with less than 3000km with good compression, injectors are 550 cc (stock rebuild rc eng) and brand new inj dynamic 720cc with the rteck 2.1 running them. Car is well maintened , i have a walbro with the stock fpr and a rewire.

So my big concern here is do you guys recommend to switch to an adjustable fpr and do you guys think the walbro with the stock fpr is giving me now this non start issue?Normaly the car start good and fast .

Yes. FPR should go hand in hand with an upgraded pump.

that sounds like the symptoms of leaking injectors, but you say they are rebuilt?

Rtek 2.x's have the de-flood feature by flooring the throttle. Obviously this doesn't help if the injectors are leaking, but looks like you had them rebuilt.

Rtek also has a adjustable fuel cranking map feature. Try lowering that to compensate for the higher fuel pressure.

and check the stock FPR for a ripped diaphragm leaking fuel into the intake through the vacuum line.

yes injectors are rebuild by rc engenering with less than 2500km.

lyger: i will check for fuel in the fpr vaccum hose , i have s5 fuel line in my s4 tII they are suppose t.b a little safer.

rxspeed16: about lowering the rtek cranking map i like the idea , this is a good advice. I did try 1 time to floor the throttle to unflood the car but without succes..(i dunno why) immediately after that, engine was starting with the egi fuse trick.

Heres what i have in my head right now , even with a stock fpr and a walbro, primary injector are not shooting fuel with power off,the cranking map is made for the stock pressure and the stock pump so im a probably shooting way to much fuel in the engine during cranking , so here the need to replaced the stock fpr or to lower the cranking map.

Fuel pump does effect the amount of fuel, but I doubt it would be so much your won't start. Please correct me if i'm wrong. My cari went from a 255lph to a 320. Fuel pressure went up to almost 45 psi at idle but my air fuel gauge was only a little richer. I guess it also matters how rich your tune is at the moment for startup and idle

I'm not sure what you meant about the s5 fuel line being better. Lyger was talking about when the diaphragm inside the fpr goes bad, the fuel goes into the vacuum line. So then you got a bad fuel pressure regulator and also unwanted extra fuel.

Before I had 550 primary and 1600 second. I switched the plugs once, and had about a half a cup of fuel in my turbo

550 cc are in primary spot.

GrossPolluter: s5 line with the s5 fpr are not better, they are supposed t.b a litle safer.(no screw at the end).

I did a fuel pump rewire like 2 month ago and i am now shooting way more fuel than before ,a/f ratio were so much richer than before the rewire. So now my walbro is shooting more fuel at start up , and the non start issue never happened to me before this mod.

update: the non start issue is now gone .
I did some corection (lowering the fuel send to the engine on startup) on the cranking map in my rtek 2.1 and its now fine after +/-30 starting. Im happy

Thx for the help guys.
