Flooded?
Please don't complain to me about searching, I did, and all it turned up was a bunch of long threads that I wasted time reading through. I think my car is flooded, it hasn't ever happened to me though so I may be wrong. What happens... I go to start it and all I hear is the starter turning over and a little "thumping" sound from the exhaust, so I know the engine is turning. I tried pulling the egi fuse thing and it didn't do anything. I also put the accelerator to the floor, cranked, then let off and cranked, nothing. What are some things that I can do that aren't going to have me wrenching on stuff. It's cold and dark outside, I am just getting over the flu, and I need the car to start tomorrow morning. It sat for a day(yesterday).

worth a try. normally the next step would be to pull the plugs, wipe them clean (or scrub if there's carbon buildup), blow out crap by cranking with only top 2 plugs in, then installing the other 2 plugs and cranking. but you said you don't want to do any wrenching.

pull the egi comp fuse. hold in the gas and crank it for about 20 seconds. put the fuse back in and try to start it. if that doesnt work, repeat. it took me 7 times the first time my 7 flooded. if not then im stumped

I've had a similar problem before... it was a dead fuel pump. Still, I'd agree that you should try other things before getting freaked out like I usually do and frantically buy things of ebay.
If the engine sounds like it's just about to start but can't make it, it could be a fuel pressure or compression problem. Either way, from what you've stated it sounds like it is a fuel problem.
A method I've used before to check and see if the fuel pump is working is to turn the key very slowly near the point where the solenoid clicks, trying not to start the ignition system, listen for a low hummm from the rear of the car.

well, you say there is a thump from the exhaust... but, can you tell if there is compression in the engine? the starter will simply sound like its turning and you wont be able to hear the resistance on the starter gears as compresson builds. sometimes, when a rotary floods, it washes the oil off the apex seals and the compression suffers to the point where the car wont even start. if this happens, just pull out the lower spark plugs, take a 2 foot long vaccum hose, then put one end into a bottle of ATF. suck fluid into the hose, hold it, place that end into spark plug holes and blow the fluid into the engine. turn the engine over by hand a little bit, and repeate the process on both holes. do this one more time. put the plugs back in and connect the plug wires. hopefully this will build up enough compression on all the rotor faces and allow the engine to fire up. this happens more often than not and is easily fixed within 10 minutes. it will smoke like a brush fire in your mama's panties. crank for 5 seconds with the pedal to the floor. then crank with the throttle closed. youll probably hear it sputter and start to fire. floor it again and crank some more. then throttle closed and itll Probably start up, once it sputters to life, throttle it and hold the RPM's at 3000 for 30 seconds. once the smoke starts to thin out a little bit, take it out for a drive. dont rev past 3000 untill you see your coolant temp guage start to move. once you start to get a little heat into your engine, feel free to take the RPM's higher and clear out the rest of the unburnt ATF.
so give that a try if the fuel pump seems to be working. another way see if the pump is working, is to just go sniff the tailpipe after cranking. if it smells like raw fuel, its obviously flooded. if it just smells like a stale exhaust pipe, theres no fuel delivery.
