Flames

I am about to install a full mostly RB exuast on my car. (header, presilencer, and y pipe, w/ magne flow cans). Will it shoot flames? I think it would be cool if it did, but I doubt it is good for the car, and I don't need any attention from cops.I am leaving the air pump on for right now, as I will be making block off plates for it and other things all at once.

If you're shooting flames your cats are probably shot...or well on their way. My stock SE shot pretty blue flames...

..just to be clear...any RX-7 will shoot flames. Unless you're running an insane turbo setup or a peripheral port motor you'll have to intentionally shoot flames, though.

No Im not shooting flames now, I have a fully functional stock exaust, but I will be going to a hugh flow full exaust and I guess I will be shooting flames. Is that just a result of running rich or what?

No it's a result of running propperly. When you cut throttle at speed it retards the combustion process and dumps raw, still burning fuel into the exhaust.

It doesn't matter if you're running 12" long turn-downs off the rotors, you'll still have to pretty much do it on purpose.

well..if fire hits your bumper...that should be a given. You don't have anything to worry about, though...only if exhaust gas is constantly hitting the bumper should you be concerned.

And I intend to have the cans sticking out a little from my bumper and to not discolor the bumper and I like how the Magna-Flow cans look. Thanks for the help

you'll be fine.. just make sure the tip does not press on the bumper, after time it will heat it up and melt a little.. the flames probably wont touch the bumper, they just shoot straight back, I've only seen modded turbo's with rolling flames.

Thumbs up

This is my exhaust,
Stock header -> Bonez mid-pipe -> stock "Y" pipe -> Twin Mazdaspeed cans (got em cheap cus they were damaged)
When I rap it out I get some big flames and my bumper is fine.
