flames?????

I thought all you need for flames was an open exhaust? I just got a Racing Beat cat back and custom pipe from the exhaust manifold back to the cat back installed on my '90 GXL. NO FLAMES! Very loud braps and rich smelling exhaust, but no flames. I'm very dissappointed. Is an intake needed for flames? How can I get flames.

I don't understand why flames are so sought after.. They are cool and such, but I don't see spending money on something just for that effect.

Only n00bs look for the flames.....cool people have the flames come to them....Lol.....and I think its something to do with your exhaust....the mufflers....no one that has blown flames has had the RB mufflers....well that I know of anyways....last time I heard you needed a straight through canister type muffler for the flames.....

What are you doing to make your car backfire? Your not gonna get flames just idling or driving down the block. You have to rev high then let it drop then rev high again to the point where the exaust is soo heated it ignites. Alsso "no one that has blown flames has had the RB mufflers....well that I know of anyways" thats not true, so guy with a fc3c posted a video of baby flames expelling from his new rb settup last week. Not flaming you just clearing that up.

actually, Turbo II FC has flames shoot from his RB exhaust all the time, its even in his avatar. When I drive behind him, its cool to see flames coming from his dual exhaust

doesn't your car have to be completely- non street legal to shoot flames? aren't any of you guys worried about the po-po with all these fire-spitting exhausts?

i heard it was like a several thousand dollar fine to be caught with no cats....

my 10AE spitting flames

mods are:
Downpipe
Midpipe
Apex'i BOV
FCD
stock cat back

nothing else

why is everyone seeking flames so much? i freaking blew out a few of my exhaust gaskets spitting fire like this. It was really cool for the first night when we discovered it happened, but honestly it came out totally by accident. So... we just decided to commemorate it with a video because I'm about to go get an S-AFC to try and stop these things!! They aren't healthy!

and btw, i didnt have to really rev it up high to get them. 4-5k was the minimum. It was just a matter of holding the throttle wide open, then letting off to like 1/4 throttle and sitting there. POP fire.
