everything joeyly said is correct. the most difficult part of this without using a spacer is adding aluminum to the FD upper. you have to fill in some of the area on the outside of the manifold between the two primary runners, otherwise once port matched there would be and intake leak there.
i was able to fit the S4 secondary rail and injectors on the S5 LIM without spacers.

go for it
Then you are set,Go for it!You will feel a difference with the larger FD t-body and manifold if everything is port matched and done right, for me it took me a couple of days to get used to it but im driving a bridgeport(very sensitive 2 throtle input, bucking bastard)

I'm trying, though it looks like it may be easier to just go with the adapter. I'm just concerned about the additional height clearing my hood since my car is an FB. Adding aluminum liike like it is more work than a $160 adapter.
Now it looks like I need to find a FD oil filter pedestal...
I appreciate the help.

oK, i didnt wanna open a new thread so im going to just tag onto this one with my question... i have a trust fmic and my intercooler piping goes up the left side (looking into the hood) then across... so is there anyway to hookup the fd uim with my intercooler piping coming from the other side?

Has anyone bothered to simply take the two gaskets for the s5 lim and the s6 uim and scan them as RASTER files on a scanner, then convert to vector format, then model them properly, and loft the sketches together to get a proper 3d piece. should take about 30 minutes, I would do it but do not have an s6 gasket lying around. That way I would share the file in a variety of formats so anybody could make these by knowing someone who has access to a five axis router table, or five axis milling machine... or using two operation methods, you will still have to extend the holes for mounting on the UIM but there will be no port matching required?

this is what i did to the s5 LIM welded up some things welded all the old mounting points so i can redrill and tap to the fd intake pattern, then got it resurfaced so its straight.im using this 90mm TB with a fd greddy elbow.FD UIM was welded in between the primary runners then i will port match it and get resurfaced.sorry but no pics of the uim as of yet.then sending the intakes to get polished.

My apologies for bringing this thread up again .
Those who have done this, I'm curious how or what did you use for the throttle body inlet tube.
The stock plastic ABS FD unit can be cut but it's a severe angle to clear the power steering pump . I've been staring at it but there is no easy way. And don't tell me to remove the power steering pump. That's not happening.
So...if someone out there has done it using the powering steering pump, I'd like to see a picture.

Ive done it. you have to to get the greddy compression tube and cut it so it will fit under the hood. i did three cuts basically the middle cut i did a 180degree turn and it fit pretty well. got it welded and re-polished and it looks as if i bought it like that. as for my s5 lower intake mani i gave it to the machine shop and they did it for me no adapter needed it looks as if it were made for it. now its like i have a frankestein. 88 motor, 91 lim,93 uim

to make it sound a bit clearer. the section where the tube turns you flip it over 180 degrees and it would face more where the 86-89 greddy compression tube would face.

it is an FC engine, with FD upper and Power steering.(I lowered the Power steering unit 4 inches using the stock bracket).I used a Greddy Throttle body elbow( with a BOV flange on it).
Now it has a Rotary-works throttle body and Gilmer drive pulley set( I don't have a pic of that yet).
Oh,something to note,The Rotary Works throttle body is Thicker than the stock throttle body so you are gonna have to re-arrange stuff when you put it on.(if things are Tight.).
