FD Upper on an Fc.
The problem is people think its is cheap to make theses with taste. The old adapter style cost me a bundle to make and made no money on it. So I stopped making them. Than I had tons of people asking me to make them again. So I did it with less angles. Yes there is minor porting to do with the fd uim. If you want a perfect fit than don't cry about the cost. Thats all that im saying.

Oh pleeze eage8, overreacting a bit don't you think? Yes, you're correct to note that there are steps at the interface to the manifolds. However, the pressure loss due to vortices induced by the steps is immeasurable frankly. If you want to port match because you like the look of a smooth transition, that's perfectly understandable, but don't fool yourself into believing that there will be any significant performance impact by doing it. The step's you see are very minor compared to the overall diameter of the primary port (<8%).
Also note that the perimeter of the primary port at the gasket is not particularly circular, but contains circumferential steps. It's very easy to knock down those discontinuities in the Aluminum with a file or Dremel tool. It's not like you have to port the entire length.
You already have to move the inner stud (mounting) holes in the FD manifold so you should be comfortable with basic machining (drilling, filing) to make the adapter fit regardless. I do agree though that the spacer should include some basic instructions to ensure people are aware of what they are signing up for.

There is ONE way to do this,I think.,,that is to get Japan2LA to make up his famous N/A to TII Lower manifolds for you.That way you can put a TII lower on a Six port N/A engine and then Run the FD Upper..(I think.).

oh ohhh!! who the hell messed this up?? i hadnt read this post for ages and now theres a way for my s4 turbo but its been fuckt up and they arnt availible anymore! simple minor mods to get working as it is with MOST car mods

fc3s91, do you have any more adapter plates remaining, or are you all out and done? i was hoping to get one eventually, im goen to rebuild my engine as the last thing for my car. i really dont want to dish out 400-600 for a little plate on top of a full engine rebuild.
Geez. These spacers are a trick piece that are made to do a custom swap of manifolds. They aren't knock offs of the FEED spacer. You'd think if you had such a high demand for a product that you would be open to hearing what your customers had to say. I had some initial questions with mine from Greece and the guys were very patient and helpful in getting me on the right path. They took the time to listen to me bitch even when it was my fault and were grateful for my buisness none the less.
I have noticed this as well with other vendors, as soon as anyone has a question they throw their hands up and blame it on the customer being an idiot. The thing is that a vendor is supposed to be the bigger man, they are supposed to take the time and help the customer understand what needs to be done.
These spacers were hyped from the very beginning and now they won't be made because someone has a question about the ports?
I'd be happy to contact the guys from Greece for another batch of these spacers.

The thing is that a vendor is supposed to be the bigger man, they are supposed to take the time and help the customer understand what needs to be done.

NJ, can you PM the info of the guys from Greece. i'd really like to get one of these spacers. i just want something that would work, or if it even got me close, i'd be happy. as long as the mounting holes are capable of fitting correctly, i'd gladly put in the extra effort to make them work. just getten the spacer in the ballpark of a finished product is 95% of the work there, the last 5% is just fitment and perfection. same as almost everything else pratically, turbo kits, body kits, prity much anything. if people want something simple, then everyone would have riced out lookin cars, or even your grandma can drive a DUBed out / Low Rider Regal, Impala or what ever.
