FC3S knock sensor replacements?

I've been told that oozing out of my knock sensor means it's about to become garbage.

I read up that J&S? has a kit.

I just was wondering is their any knock sensors for sale that I can pick up from users on the forum or get at a junk yard out of another Mazda model.

I'm planning on using a standalone soon and I don't need to see the knock on the display going haywire every second.

If you're going with a standalone, it seems to me like a lot of people don't use knock sensors. I may be wrong, but that's the general consensus that I got from what I was reading. I don't use one, and do not experience knock because I use a conservative tune and tuned my car properly with SEVERAL datalogs, making sure to monitor the AFRs closely before trimming the fuel back or advancing the timing. Another thing I read was that the FC knock sensor is kind of garbage. Again, I could be very wrong on this. It's all from what I read and have experienced. A good knock sensor can help save your engine, but the real way to save it is with good tuning.

I read that before.

Yeah, that's one source that carries them, I might just rip it off some clunker if it's not oozing.

I'll be running a apexi unit, and i'll get it tuned, soon as i pick up a new AEM wideband sensor, as I've been warned before that they like to die after 2 years.

I guess, I'll be lucky if someone is selling one for 50-80 bucks. Guess It's most likey a 13b related piece.

It would seem that the rx7 knock sensor is proprietary. I can use whatever knock sensor I want with the megasquirt, so that leaves a lot of inexpensive options open for me. You just have to get the right knock sensor signal conditioner for it.

Your right their, nah it's been rebuilt just same crusty harness.

I'll check back in with misters, if my readings are all garbage.

Currently have chassis swap I've been having ignition switch issues, by having my accessories getting power but ignition/fuel ect... not being powered on key.

Thanks, never really thought of the fact age usually just meant swap/ garbage.

most aftermarket ECU's can't use a knock sensor... and it turns out that separating knock from normal noises is a little tricky too

Didn't know that. I only have experience with one standalone, but you can do damn near anything with it. You just have to be decent-ish at soldering and have a baseline knowledge of electronics.

That is very true. I was reading up about some knock sensors a while back, and the problem that the rotary engine runs into is that most knock sensors will sense knock past a certain rpm because of the high revs and noise the engine makes.
