FC Buying Question

A friend of mine is looking to get an FC for his second car to take some miles off of his ITR. I am pretty much an FD guy and know everything to look for when it comes to them, but I don't know much about the FC. I am planning on looking at some cars with him and I want to know what kind of things you should look for when buying an FC. Thanks.

PS: If this question has been asked a million times I am sorry. I did a search and I didn't find a whole lot though.

Typical problems:

1 - Wiper switch difficulties. They will probably only work in certain positions and not others. Fixes include replacing relays in the switch (with varying degrees of success) or finding one that will work off a parts car (also with varying degrees of success).

2 - Flooding problems. Could be owners fault for not letting car warm up, or could be a sign of other problems (like leaky injectors).

Otherwise just check for basic things you would on any car. How does it run? Does it shift well? Any notchiness when shifting? Rust? Is it clean - inside and out?

check Http://www.teamfc3s.org

obviously the first thing to check is compression, especially on high mileage cars. yes, the fc is an older car now, and everything electrical has the chance of having a quirk or two.

For a daily beater just look at mileage & compression. If you are pretty much set on the car, might want to change the oil & see what that looks like. You can tell if its been running a while without a change usually.

What the hell?

Ive had an rx7 for 2 days, and I see this alot. What the hell is a FC and a FD, or what does it stand for? Forgive my stupidity.
