stick with the same year engine...i'd personally recommend you getting a rebuild with s5 rotors. this way you'll get a "refresh" motor with the lighter rotors and higher compression as the s5 but will "drop" into your s4.
and the cpu is NOT the same...

Jspecs should only be considered a core for a rebuild. They have been sitting around in junk yards too long to be worth driving

What exactly do you have to change on the oil injection system.

I currently have a 86GXL. I was wondering what all I would need to switch to put the 91 j-spec engine in. This is my list so far.

91 Jspec Engine
91 Jspec Tranny
91 Air Flow Sensor
Lightweight Flywheel for 91
FMIC
High Flow Fuel Pump
850cc Secondaries
FCD
Apexi Turbo Timer
Apexi Boost Gauge
Apexi Blow-Off Valve
Fluidyne Radiator
Fuel Pressure Regulator
BNR Supercars Intake
Thunderfabrications DP/MP Combo
Apexi NI Single
