Experienced Tuners Need Help With My T2!!!!!!!!

Whats up guys I need some help....I got my car back and oh my goodness it is AMAZING how quick the car is... It boosts really well and by 3500rpm I am at a solid 10psi and by 4500-redline its 12psi(constant). There is no spiking at all and I am so pleased with the entire swap....this was a S5 T2 swap into a 88 GXL. I myself came from driving a 183rwhp N/A Streetported engine and my new setup feels 50 times more powerful....LOL. The shop who performed the entire swap for me was very pleased with the outcome of this Jspec engine...we were all surprised at how QUICK this car really is. This is one Nasty Jspec...I guess some Jspecs are bad but this one certainly is not. Well we had my S-AFC set up rich b/c I am still on the 550cc Injectors...and I have to take it a little easy on the power b/c the car is actually producing to much torque for the stock clutch(slips a little). But I did have a alternator issue...put a new one on b/c the other one did not hold a charge and when I disconncted my battery I think I lost my S-AFC maps. I need the help of an Experienced Tuner PLEASE....just give me a Decent Setup for maps that I could use....I know that this wont be 100% accurate but it can be relatively close and I just want to make sure on higher rpms I am rich instead of lean. My old maps were sorta like 0% on the low from 1000-8000rpm and the high varied from like 5+ at low rpms to 35+ at higher rpms. Please just give me some maps that would go good with my mods: The engine was setup right and I know the precautions necessary to drive at 12psi.

S5 Jspec T2 Engine
K&N Air Filter
Full 3 1/8in Turbo Back Exhaust
Knights Sports FCD
SRP Manual Boost Controller
Fully Ported Wastegate
All Emissions Removed

Low Throttle 1000-8000rpm(Need Map)
High Throttle 1000-8000rpm(Need Map)

Sorry for the long post but any help would really be APPRECIATED and please only post if you have some sort of knowledge of the S-AFC and tuning. Thank you
Mike

1. Get a walbro or at least an FD pump in there if you're boosting over 10 pounds.
2. On stock injectors the safc is pretty much worthless.

Can no one give me any sort of maps that are somewhat correct? I fogot to mention that the injectors have all been cleaned and that I have a Cosmo 20B Fuel Pump. Thanks for the info guys but I need some maps. Sure an S-AFC is no Standalone but it does give me 50% Control over my entire fuel mix from 1000-8000rpm. So I will set it up to be rich in the higher rpms where boost is from 10-12psi. Please someone just give me some maps from the mods I have listed. Thanks

Karack...what are you talking about? He is right. After 10 PSI the stock fuel pump cannot supply enough fuel to the injectors. Also, when you use an SAFC you get big injectors and then turn them down some with the SAFC till you are in the right A/F range. Pushing injectors harder that are already maxed out isn't really going to get you anywhere.

No.........save until you can get a wideband ......then adjust your 550'S with the safc......or go to a dyno shop/tuner/whatever/

I bought this wideband the LM-1. Takes all the guess work out and will pay for its self compared to 1 dyno day.

Ditto. Your pushing the limits of the stock injectors already past 10psi.

I start leaning out above 6k rpm with stock injectors at 10psi.

I think they say the max you should run a injector is 80% duty cycle.

Go get some 720's and a wideband. Then you can tune that baby into perfection.

SO until I get some high impedence 720cc injectors you guys suggest taking it easy. I have no problem at all driving the car like a baby. Since I have had it back I have only entered boost twice and I only took it to about 7psi....I ususally shift at about 3000rpm in every gear so 95% of the time I dont even enter boost...my turbo is not even spooling. Now I know that sometimes you do need to redline a rotary every once in a while or is babying it perfectly fine and not a problem. By the way my OMP is removed and I run Idemitsu Premix and Engine Oil.

Well honestly you can probably run 12psi 24/7 BUT I prefer to have a safety buffer.

You'll probably find guys posting about how they run 14psi daily on stock injectors etc... but I still don't trust it.

The rule of thumb is to use an SAFC to tune down big injectors instead of over work smaller cc injectors.

I'd recommend to set your boost to 10psi and just save for injectors. It's around $120-200 for a pair most of the time.

Thanks Digi7ech...I guess I will just take it easy then and I do not have to redline it every so often do I? I mean babying it wont hurt it right?

Provided you don't baby it for years and then take it to the drag strip you'll be fine.

So it would be safe to say redline it every blue moon b/c I am going to race the car and have fun with it...but I just wanted to make sure things were right first. I mean I'd probably drive it normal for 90% of the time and that small 10% I would have a little fun.

No "experienced tuner" will give you settings for your car just from reading about it.

An experienced tuner will tune YOUR car to its settings... no car is the same, so you can't just give someone a map and expect them to safely use it.

I agree....I'll just get the 750cc injectors and then the S-AFC will be of alot more use to me.
