Exhaust and injector question...

I need some advice on what to do about my exhaust. I need a new one, but I can't afford the one that I want right now so I was just going to go to a local Meineke to get one put on just for meantime. The guy there suggested that I get a new cat and put some glass packs on instead of mufflers. I don't know a whole lot about exhaust systems yet, so can anyone tell me how good are glass packs and if I should go that route. If not what should I do until I can get the exhaust that I really want? If I was to go with what he said, he told me it would cost about $400 altogether. Well, I could almost get the exhaust that I want for that if I put it on myself. Which brings me to my next question...how hard is it to put on one of the exhaust systems from mazdatrix or something? I dont have a car lift or anything. What all is involved with puting one on?

Also, the guy at the muffler place told me that my engine has a miss in it and that he recommends that I get that fixed first or else it will burn out my new cat. This is where my injector question comes in. For one, my engine floods (I know that is from leaky injectors) and I constantly smell gas fumes in the car. Also, sometimes when I downshift, it shoots out a puff of white smoke out the tailpipe. Is it my injectors causing the miss? What should I do about my injectors? Should I have them rebuilt? If so, where? Should I buy new ones? If so, where is the cheapest place? Sorry for the long post, I just need to get this serious stuff out of the way quickly. Any and all info and advice would be MUCH appreciated. If you wanna talk to me on AOL IM, my name is the same as it is here. Thanx in advance!

If you are looking for a cheap exhaust Monza makes one for @ $269.95 this cat-back system includes the "Y" pipe and the two muffler cans. I bought one just prior to buying a complete RACINGBEAT SYSTEM. The Monza unit lasted about 5 months. The Rotary engine puts out really hot exhaust and it literally oxidized this thing till it started coming apart at the welds. I also removed my cats prior, so this probably increased the direct heat on the system. On your permanent exhaust you will want a stainless steel system that can withstand the heat. Glass packs are usually filled with fiberglass and they will melt with the rotary heat they may last you months or days depending on your setup. The higher quality mufflers designed for rotary's are filled with stainless steel wool and will lastlonger. You will need a hydraulic jack and jack stands to install and maybe a padded mat since you'll be on your back for about 2-3 hours. I have not messed with my injectors so I can't help you with those.

I bought my Monza at www.victoriabritish.com

Send your injectors to RC engineering to be cleaned/balanced/calabrated/blueprinted.

I agree about not skimping on the exhaust. The rotary puts out trememdous heat and most generic stuff won't last. You can always try www.thepartstrader.com for used parts.

If I were to buy new injectors, what kind of flow rate should I get. I would like some better performance than the stock injectors.
