Everything breaks on this car!

Any time I start pulling the interior apart, I find something new that is broken. Superglue sucks. Today I managed to glue my finger to one of the platic tabs under the instrument cluster. That sucks, too.

It's getting so that I actually enjoy pulling off the throttle body to mess with trying to fix my idle problem, because at least nothing breaks - arrrgghh!

Plus, I have all the other FC problems (except flooding, I can start my car for just a few seconds, minutes, turn it off and then start it right back up - undoubtedly when I fix the idle I will then have the flooding problem), CPU cold solder, Logicon issues, Idiot light cluster problems, demister vents, clunking rear diff, Idle issues, sunroof sticks, just pulled the stock intermittently working stereo out (good riddance), 3800 rpm hesitation, window trim piece plastic flaking, bad gas mileage, blah, blah, blah.

On the plus side, this car is replacing an '86 626 hatchback - pimpstyle metallic goldbrown in color with 215,000 miles and about 32.7 rwhp. 0-60 in 'pack a lunch' so it's not all bad.

Use plastic epoxy for interior pieces.. works wonders!

Alas it is an old car though. But there are some simple fixes.

Replace eveyrthing thats rubber. Shouldnt be that much.

Buy new fuel injectors to fix flooding. I just bought rebuilt ones for $28 each

88 SE,

You're right, it is an old car. Oh well, I just hope I can get it running well, and then enjoy it for a year or so. It's not really my performance car, just my tool around on the weekend car, and it is great for that, even with all the stuff that's broken.

Thanks,
W

My flooding problems went away after I had mine cleaned by RC Engineering. Why wouldn't new/cleaned injectors fix a flooding issue? What if the injectors are leaky?
