Unhappy My baby is gone

My 7 the only love of my life has been declared a total loss....

sorry its really killing me, it was an 88 gxl, engine running really strong, interior super clean, exterior WAS perfect, damn im gonna miss the sweet tone of my exaust.. and the joy of simply driving my car

What happened was i got into an accident and the enitre left side of my car is ruined, they deemed it a total loss, and when i heard those words i almost started to cry. What happens is that if your car gets totaled it gets that nice "salvage" next to the title which does not allow you to drive your car at all untill the car is repaired and the salvage title is removed which intales about a week worths of paper work and process+headaces it just plain sucks.
Only good thing that came outa this? I got my cars full value due to the fact that this accident wasent my fault and the insurance paid it all. But now im stuck with a car that i love and cannot drive plus have to stare at in the condition its in. Now my only goal in life is to find a better Rx7 preferably a TII and be happy again. So now i must be patient and find a new love of my life

ps. Still trying to decide weather or not to bring it outa salvage+pay the money to get it fixed

How much cash you get for it? How much for repairs?

i heard a similar problem from a guy i was buying a car from. this was almost 3 years ago when i was looking for an integra. i found one and my dad and i went to check it out. it was a 93 that had a lot of stuff done to it, everything under forced induction. anyways, what happened was that he got caught up in tornado weather, but didn't hurt the car. what did happen was he went through a big puddle and the cold air intake sucked up enough water to kill the engine. apparently, the car was totalled, but in great condition. he bought the car back from the insurance company, but just couldn't insure it under them. could have been bullshitting i guess, but in all reality, he didnt even want to sell the car, but also didnt want to deal with it. that could have been a lie, too, but it turned out he in fact kept that car and sold his 2000 (i believe) Integra GSR because he just wouldnt let that 93 go. but i dont know about salvage titles, but that was my story.

I feel your pain man. I had my own 87 all fixed up, just put a header and cat back on it, running great. Bolted it back up and now the front rotor is CARBON LOCKED!!

I have 30psi in the front and 90 on the rear, it runs but on the rear only . . . AAAAAAaaaaaaaaah!!!

My motor died and all I did was put on a header!!

Well, why don't you buy a run-out RX7 for like $100, just save the body and vin basically, take all the interior, mechanicals, mods, wheels etc. off the wrecked beauty and take all the insurance $ to get a nice paint job on the new vin? Unless you are stuck without a garage like me.

I know how you feel. I just found out my TII was declared a total loss today too

And I might have to hire a lawyer to get all the money from the insurance people to pay off the loan on the car.

Yeah thats what im trying to do i just want another rx7, and its been hell so far trying to find a really good one for a good price.
They gave me 2300 bucks for my car it was an 88 gxl with 160k on engine i mean its pretty good but the repairs to the car are gonna cost me at least half of that (i found parts cheap around) the most expensive part is the rear 1/4 pannel, i need to get that cut then welded and there qoutin me like 1500 bucks for that job alone then the rest is simply replacing panels/getting them painted. **** i aint gonna go through that though im just gonna sell the car and try to get a nice TII, cuz i figure thats the only thing that will make me happier than before.
Oh and i found out today im not getting the salvage title and the car is allowed to be driven due to the fact that is in fact drivable so it retains a normal title for the most part.

I'd repair it probably, because you probably won't find anything better for that much
