engine bogs down at 4k rpm

Was fighting morning traffic and noticed when I tried to get going engine was bogging down. If I were to accelerate normally it will run go until around 4k rpm then sputter and bod down. It also does this while at normal temps and all times of the day not just in the morning. I was thinking either it was the fuel delivery (please god no) or my air intake. Cleaned up my air intake filter but no luck on improvement :/ any ideas guys?

Sounds like your secondary fuel injectors are not working.

I was assuming so! Im thinking both are going too cause it will spudder the whole acceleration process in 2nd gear, But this is every now and then. But replacing both wouldn't hurt would it?

Your issue could be a grounding related one as grounding issues can prevent the secondary injectors from coming online when they are supposed to.

I would definitely check the ECU ground and the wiring to each injector before I went replacing anything. Make sure the pins on each injector connector haven't slipped back and are making a good connection.

And before replacing the injectors I would have them sent off to get cleaned, it's cheap and effective.

This is why you red line your engine at least once EVERY day. You get fuel flowing through the secondary fuel injectors, preventing them from clogging and or sticking... And you free up some of that carbon build up on the inside of your engine.

I agree with all of the above.
- Clean all grounds
- Check fuel injector clips

If you're still having issues...
- Send the fuel injectors off to be cleaned. (If you're short on cash, just send out the secondaries.)
- Replace fuel filter
- Inspect/replace the fuel sock

I always recommend Witch Hunter Performance to anyone looking for great fuel injector servicing.

This sounds like a fun time lol, but to get to the fuel injectors I would have to take off the upper intake manifold? also as a side note I am talking about my 91 rx 13b engine N/A just so there is no confusion (mainly on my part)

bad battery connections
high resistance in injector ground circuit, clean the ground points
faulty injector clip on secondary injector(s)
clogged cat
TPS out of adjustment or faulty
low fuel pressure
vacuum leaks
faulty engine harness injector junctions(inside the harness, pray this isn't the case)

injectors are probably the least likely cause of failure

that would be my checklist in order of checking things. some items are easier to test than others so the order may be moved around.

Should look into Gas vapor carburetors.. Why waste solid fuel when you can save it and use it for vapor.

I'm thinking this problem is going to return, snake oil isn't a very effective remedy.
