Water thermosensor needs to send a proper signal to the ECU so it can decide how much fuel to inject upon startup. Pin 2I should read 2 to 3 volts on a cold start and .4 to 1.8 volts on a warm start w/key to on and you should be looking for the warm start numbers in this instance if you try to measure this input signal at the ECU. This pin can also be removed from the plug and the engine will have the minimum amount of fuel injected to start the car. Don't cut the wire to remove the pin if this is your choice to take the sensor out of the starting equation. To remove the pin just unplug the middle plug to the ECU and use a jeweler size screwdriver to press down on the pin from the part of the plug that doesn't have the wire running into it and at the same time pull on the wire and it should slide out. This would be the side which connects to the actual ECU.

o well that makes sense because the car for some reason barely had any antifreeze, could that haver caused it to run so rich? are you talking about the one on top of the radiator?

No, that would be the coolant level sensor. The Water Thermosensor is located at the top and behind the water pump as it has a single wire running to it.
