Does anyone rebuild switches anymore?

Now that Icemark has passed (R.I.P.), does anyone else do this?

I have the common wiper-only-works-on-lowspeed problem.

Alternately, does anyone know where to get the relay needed to fix the switch?

I bought the main relay from Digikey (www.digikey.com) which is the electronics supply company that Icemark used to recommend. They shipped the relays pretty fast and were cool to deal with, though I think I ended up placing my order over the phone because I couldn't find the relay I wanted on their website. There are other places that people have dealt with and/or recommend as well.

I don't know if anyone has begun rebuilding the switches in any sort of Icemark-like official capacity yet. I successfully did mine myself and I'd say I have average to below-average soldering skills. You can probably get it done on your own. The hardest part is desoldering properly, i.e. getting all the old solder off without damaging the board. If you're curious, here's a thread chronicling my wiper switch rebuilding saga:

A bit of Rain-X works wonders too, granted it won't repair your switch.

When I just re-read my old wiper switch thread from April, I noticed that N1XRR mentioned that he was thinking of starting a wiper switch rebuilding business. Not sure if he did this. It might be worth a PM to find out if you're interested...

If you don't want to do it yourself I could do it for you. I've rebuilt like 5 switches so far with success.

Question:

Did anyone ever think Icemark's prices were too high? I was planning on copying his pricing structure.

I would think his pricing is irrelevant.
Figure your time and materials and base the price on that.

Just a bump because I still don't feel too good about BLATANTLY advertising. But does anyone need switches rebuilt? Haven't had much demand since starting.

Actually, I'm a very big "Mist" and Intermittent user.

I hate people who put their wipers on High for a little sprinkle.
