A lexan windhiled would be a bad idea. Lexan scratches easily, and would inhibit sight. I think lexan is illegal for street use, and I am almost dead sure it would be illegal for your windshield to be anything other than saftey glass. But hey, we all gut our cats, and remove our emissions, and that's illegal right?!?!?!?

yeah lexan does cratch easy and turns yellow but polish helps the fading. It would have to be on a weekend car for sure. as far as llegal I am still waiting to see if a cop will say the role bar is illegal.

Good call. I bet if you could find the lexan windshield, it would have to be custom. ie:EXPENSIVE. Probally like $600-$700 for a weight reduction of like 20 pounds. But it is your money!!!

That money/time could be spent on better things. What are you really looking for anyways? There are many better ways to get an FC very light. Gut the doors, or better yet, get CF doors. Cf fenders, hood, etc. Race seats, remove sound deadening material, custom flberglass or sheet metal dash(the stock one is very heavy), the list goes on and on.
I dont think the scratching would be a problem, I mean Lexan is used on small aicraft windshields almost universally. My problem with it would be safety. Lexan isnt strong enough for a windshield on a car. If you roll your car, youre dead, period.
www.aircraftspruce.com is an aircraft supply company, and they sell Lexan sheets. Like I said, it is used A LOT in small airplanes.

my goal is to touch every area and to make sure not to overlooked anything I already have plans for CF hood fenders and doors. The lexan would just be the icing on the cake.

IF you search for it,(dramatic pause) you will find it.
They have them for $450(or something close to that).

Actually, Lexan is pretty scratch resistant.  Lexan is also known as the generic plastic polycarbonate.  Compared to plexi (or generic acrylic), plexi scratches a HELLUVA lot easier than Lexan does.  You know the car is technically illegal due to DOT regs for vehicles which drive on public roads, right?
