Angry damn buzzer!!!!!

every time I start my car now my anti freeze buzzer/light comes on and I know it's full. It goes off after a few minutes but it's awful annoying until then...anyone know what the problem may be?

Bad sensor. Check it and replace it. Are you ABSOLUTLY sure it is full?

mine did that for a while...and the problem was it wasn't full when the engine is cool but when the engine heats up and the thermo opens up...it gets enough fluid in there to shut the sensor up...so make sure your rad is full (not so much your res)

Pull the sensor and check continuity of the center of the sensor with the wire lead - it should be a direct connection.&nbsp Obviously signs of frayed wiring at the top of the sensor where the wire connects to the sensor is a sure sign of a flakey sensor.

Small bubbles in the coolant system could cause the sensor to go off falsly.&nbsp There is a "special" coolant filling procedure for the FC's...

The coolant level sensor is in your radiator. How is your rad above full?
Try bleeding the air out of your system by warming the car up so that the thermostat opens with the radiator cap off, then add fluid as needed. This will allow air bubbles in your coolant system to escape.

if the cap is faulty it will let air in or not hold preasure. check the wire that grounds out for that buzzer to go off. it's right beside the rad. on the passenger side. if that wire is frayey or lose it could be grounding out unintentionaly. also you already bleed the system right? did you follow the instructions in the FSM or haynes? if the cap was bad yo might also see fluid around the housing.

Don't forget to check all the hoses in the cooling system... I had the problem in my vert for a month and one night, the car overheated and i replaced a heater hose... Still had the buzzer and then had another hose leak elsewhere... Replaced that, and my problem went away for good.

Hey dudes,

I have the buzzer problem as well. I start my car up and the buzzer automatically goes on.

So i check for leaks. Found 2, replaced the hoses with new ones from mazda. Still had the problem. So i went to mazda today and got a new rad cap and a new fuel filter. I filled the car up while it was cold. Then started it, when it got to operating temp, then it started dumping coolant into the overflow tank. But it only does it when its idling. When i keep it at rev or rev it up. Then its stops dumping until it goes back to idling. Then the coolant goes into the tank again.

ITs also all white, its like milk white. Even though i just put in the green antifreeze and water?

so wtf is up with my car?

thanks

Action,

Check your oil, sounds like you've got a coolant seal going bad, and it's dumping exhaust gas into the coolant. OTOH, I'd expect it to be worse with RPM, not less.. So what the hell would I know

I had the same buzzer problem as you guys. A new radiator cap from napa solved it. Wonder why i got it from napa? My business has an account there, so i get a discount, and i don't have to pay my boss back until i have the cash to do it. Such is the positive side of getting hitched to the boss' daugther. CJ

REPLACE your rad cap... My cooling system blew up because of a faulty rad cap... it costs like $5 bux... (much cheaper than replacing the cooling system... or the engine) DON'T add more coolant to the rad until you have replaced the rad cap...

I have been having the same problem.
I finally found a SMALL leak from the water pump.
I had no overheating, but I am sure that was just around the corner.
I have already taken it apart and will get a new water pump ASAP.

Which is great until something actually goes wrong and you don't know.... I'd much rather be pissed off at an annoying buzzer than replacing my engine!

Yeah, the buzzer is something you can't miss when its going off. Unlike the little lights on the dash. Infact, if the sun is shinning right (does'nt happen often in Oregon.) you can't see any of the lights. CJ

If nothing else solves it, replace the hose that goes from the cap to the overflow bottle. It could have a pinhole leak.

Also, any number of other hoses could have a tiny leak that caused the coolant to escape as steam, not liquid. These are very hard to find, but will result in cronically low coolant without any noticable leaks....Replace all your coolant hoses...It's standard maintenance anyway.
