Custom seat brackets

I have been searching around on here and all I seem to find are posts about custom mounting racing seats and there are some about crx seats and others, but I was wondering if there was anyone who makes a fairly universal mount for the passenger side, a solid mount would work. And to picture ***** my purchase I got these gsr seats for my 88' vert:

Also if anyone has like a good picture of a custom bracket for their seats that would also be greatly helpful, My welding skills are getting there, but for something like this I would prefer something made professionally if at all possible.

Yeah, good luck with that.
If you study the stock passenger seat, you'll see that the whole seat base frame is designed for that awful angled inner track.
It is possible to make adaptors that work but you'll typically need to raise the outside track to make the seat sit flat.
I'm currently on my seventh set of seats (Honda Preludes) and believe me, I know how difficult the passenger side is to mount.

Wedge Engineering

Just yesterday we were fabbing up the brackets to install RX8 seats in the vert. Gonna take some pictures and post em up.

If you search, there are some good threads on installing other seats in the RX7s.

heh, i've got rx8 seats in my vert, and they're mounted solid, but i have to redue the drivers seat, in the all the way forward position. a 5'4 girl couldn't reach the pedals. sucks, i bet she woulda enjoyed borrowing the vert.

Would love to see your brackets and I'm sure the OP would find value in them too.

wedge will make custom brackets for about $110-$115 if I recall, brackets they have in stock are $90, and you get them fast

FWIW, make sure you like those Integra seats before you go to all that trouble. My wife had an '01 GS-R with those same leather seats for years and I thought the seats were the worst part of the car. Not much lateral support, minimal lower back support, and bottom cushion was like sitting on a church pew.

I've ridden in an integra with them before which was part of the reason I bought them, when I rode in them i thought they were comfy, so I went for it, and I know the passenger side is not enjoyable by anymeans, but I bought them knowing the purchase of custom brackets would almost be required, I'll probably give wedge a call and see whats up.

The stock RX7 seats are some of the most comfortable seats my *** has been able to grace its presence.

Don't understand why you'd want to switch, or anyone else for that matter.

20+ year old cracked leather and sagging bolster seats sure do feel comfortable, until you change them and realize how shitty they really were, like you were sitting on a flat piece of foam

My pickup has better seats then my convertible did

I had three different sets of FC seats and thought they all were terrible.
The Prelude seats I have now are some of the best OEM seats I've ever tried, better than the Corbeaus I had before.

I guess different seats fit different physiques. I love the TII-style seats in my '88 GTU and think they're about the most comfortable and supportive seats I know. I also liked the base seats from my '90 GTU. On the other hand, my wife thinks my RX-7s have been very uncomfortable and preferred the Integra that I hated...

Thanks for all of the input, I went ahead and ordered brackets from wedge, so I can at least get them mounted securely, looks like the passenger side may not slide, but hey its a convertible, and its not like i'll be sitting on that side.

Also, I actually don't have the stock leather seats, I think I have some out of a TII that came in the car, but they are beat to snot so they would need new foam and covers, the upholstery shop said out the door I'd be looking at around 800, so I'll have to see how these work out once I get them in!

i built my own brackets 2 weeks ago.
for the drivers seat i could just use the stock rails, drill and extra hole and make 2 mounting holes a little bit bigger.
passenger seat was indeed terrible... this is what i came up with

the seat is now mounted as low as possible, about 1cm higher then the drivers seat

Here's where I modified the stock seat brackets to accept some China sport seats:
